How early can we start our kids on supplements such as multi-vitamins, vitamin C and vegetable gummy bear? If kids is three eating well but slightly underweight, is there anything we can do to make her gain some weight?
It seems to be a common phenomenon that most mothers worry that their children are underweight, and that they don't seem to get all fleshy and "well padded" ( and therefore look healthy) despite being provided with all the appropriate nutrition. It's all a little subjective but there is nothing to be concerned about if the child is eating well, healthy and active even though he or she may be perceived to be " a little skinny". Be concerned though if the child is losing weight progressively. Supplementation with vitamins C is optional as healthy balanced diet should normally suffice. There is no hard and fast rule as to when vitamins can be started.
The important thing is to follow the recommended dose. An overdose over time can lead to vitamin poisoning.
