Tonsillitis and sore throat

Tonsillitis is a clinical condition where the tonsils are inflamed due to an infection.
Sore throat is a symptom (pain in the throat especially on swallowing). Sore throat can be experienced with tonsillitis and pharyngitis (inflammation of the pharynx or throat). Each time you have a bad sore throat, consult your doctor to determine if you are having tonsillitis or pharyngitis.
Recurrent tonsillitis can be troublesome and the cure is the removal of the tonsils or tonsillectomy.
