  • Food overeating can lead to an upset tummy, as will greasy, spicy and unfresh food. Or your child could have a food allergy, or be lactose intolerant.
  • Constipation when your little ones has trouble moving his bowels, he may not be consuming enough fibre and water.
  • Diarrhoea, vomiting this could be stomach flu or he could have picked up intestinal bacteria from not washing his hands after the toilet.
  • Infections infections in other parts of the body, like pneumonia and ear infections, can also cause stomach aches.
  • Appendicitis pain extending from near the belly button to the lower right side of the abdomen, and is accompanied by a fever, vomiting or loss of appetite.
  • Stress psychological distress can trigger a physical reaction. Your child could be worried about issues at school or be having problems at home.
